Broadband Over Fibre Pilot
The Broadband over Fibre pilot allows Telecom Wholesale service providers to test their end-to-end service offerings.
Broadband over Fibre is a Layer 2 Ethernet fibre access tail service that enables service providers to deliver to their end-users a range of broadband-enabled services and applications.
Multi-class capability enables applications that require real time network performance and those that utilise "best efforts" or Internet grade performance.
The variants of the Broadband over Fibre service available during the pilot are:
- Spark - Real Time Class of Service delivering 100kbps Real time grade IP traffic connectivity. This will support real time traffic including Layer 3 headers (RTP, UDP, IP) but excluding Layer 2 headers (Ethernet)
- Flame - Internet Class of Service delivering speeds up to 30Mbps downstream/6Mbps upstream, Internet grade
Information for Broadband over Fibre installers and end-users is available on the Brightspark website.
