Basic Unbundled Bitstream Access
Basic Unbundled Bitstream Access (UBA) allows service providers to offer own-branded Internet-grade Broadband services to home and small enterprise end-users, delivered over Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) access lines.
Two variants of Basic UBA are offered under the UBA STD:
- Basic UBA without POTS - an ADSL enabled service without an active analogue telephone service on the same copper line.
- Basic UBA with POTS - an ADSL enabled service with an active analogue telephone service on the same copper line. The analogue telephone service is not provided as part of the Basic UBA but can be ordered separately from Telecom Wholesale.
Two additional variants of Basic UBA are offered under the Wholesale Services Agreement:
- Basic UBA 256/128 without POTS - this an ADSL enabled service without POTS and has a 256kbps downstream line speed for data traffic sent to the end-user and a 128kbps upstream line speed for data traffic sent from the end-user.
- Basic UBA 256/128 with POTS - this is an ADSL enabled service with POTS and as a 256kbps downstream line speed for data traffic sent to the end-user and a 128kbps upstream line speed for data traffic sent from the end-user.
